This pillar focuses on developing the skilled workforce necessary to support economic transformation.
Skill Development is pivotal in capacity building of the workforce, the Directorate in collaboration with TVET, the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education and the respective technical and vocational institutes will undertake curriculum development for non-degree courses that meets the needs of employers. This curriculum development will be preceded by a collaborative nationwide skill gap survey that will adequately inform the intervention of the Directorate to ensure that the non-degree courses are tailored to realistically address the identified gaps and increase employment opportunities for the citizens especially young people.
This is an essential component of the work of the Agency to ensure that citizens are well positioned for the job market by having the requisite skills, the Agency is a member of the TVET Coalition.
