By equipping citizens\u2014particularly young people\u2014with relevant and in-demand skills, the agency aims to bridge the gap between education and employment while strengthening local participation in key industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategic Focus Areas:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1\ufe0f\u20e3 <strong>Workforce Skill Development &amp; Capacity Building<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A well-trained workforce is a fundamental driver of economic growth. In collaboration with <strong>Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, and other vocational training bodies<\/strong>, the Directorate will design and implement <strong>non-degree courses<\/strong> tailored to meet the evolving needs of employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2\ufe0f\u20e3 <strong>Nationwide Skills Gap Survey &amp; Curriculum Development<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure training programs align with real-world industry demands, the Directorate will conduct a <strong>comprehensive skills gap survey<\/strong> across the country. Insights from this research will inform the development of <strong>customized training curricula<\/strong> that address existing workforce deficiencies and enhance employment prospects for Sierra Leoneans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3\ufe0f\u20e3 <strong>Positioning Citizens for the Job Market<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Sierra Leone Local Content Agency (SLLCA)<\/strong> is committed to ensuring that Sierra Leoneans are well-prepared for job opportunities by equipping them with <strong>practical, job-ready skills<\/strong>. Through structured training programs and strategic partnerships, this pillar seeks to <strong>enhance employability, boost local hiring, and foster knowledge transfer<\/strong> between multinational firms and the local workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a <strong>member of the TVET Coalition<\/strong>, the agency actively collaborates with key stakeholders to <strong>advance technical education, promote workforce readiness, and support technology transfer initiatives<\/strong>.
