Pillar 1: Enhancing Communication & Engagement for Effective Local Content Implementation
This pillar is spearheaded by the Communications and Outreach Department and is dedicated to fostering an enabling environment that ensures the seamless operation of the Sierra Leone Local Content Agency (SLLCA). Its primary focus is to bridge knowledge gaps, promote awareness, and encourage active participation from all stakeholders, including Sierra Leoneans, the Government, and Multinational Companies.
For the Local Content Act to achieve its full impact, it is crucial that all relevant parties have a clear understanding of its provisions and the benefits of compliance. Greater awareness and engagement will drive effective implementation, stronger institutional capacity, and enhanced regulatory frameworks to support local businesses and industries.
To strengthen the Act and ensure its long-term sustainability, this pillar prioritizes the following key strategies:
1️⃣ Increasing Awareness & Participation – Encouraging a deeper understanding of Local Content policies among Sierra Leonean citizens, businesses, and foreign investors to enhance compliance and cooperation.
2️⃣ Establishing a Robust Institutional Framework – Developing and strengthening the necessary structures to support policy implementation, enforcement, and continuous monitoring.
By implementing these strategies, this pillar aims to create a collaborative and transparent ecosystem where local businesses thrive, foreign investors actively contribute, and national policies are effectively enforced for sustainable economic growth.
