The Sierra Leone Local Content Agency is a specialized semi-autonomous agency of the government of Sierra Leone charged with the responsibility to implement the Local Content Agency Act 2016. The agency and government’s key priority and strategic focus is skills development and strengthening the capacity of local enterprise and its citizens for the enhancement of livelihood as formulated by the government of Sierra Leone’s medium-term National development plan of 2019 – 2023.

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Ibrahim Alpha Sesay said on Tuesday January 9th, 2024 that local content is a driver of industrialization aimed at promoting the utilization of domestic resources as inputs along value chains thereby achieving the objectives of increasing average local content levels, capacity utilization, and manufactured exports.
